The Ottawa River forms the northern border of this Eastern Ontario riding. The suburban and rural area contains Ottawa’s southwestern suburbs and the town of Mississippi Mills in Lanark County.

The riding is bordered on the northeast by March Valley Road, Eagleson Road and Riddell Road, on the southeast by McCordick Road and on the southwest by Ashton Station Road.

The riding has a large manufacturing sector, including high-tech companies in the technology enclave of Kanata in Ottawa’s west end. There are also a significant number of public servants. The average household income is $102,188 and the unemployment rate is 4.4 per cent.

According to the 2001 census, more than five per cent of residents in the area have French as a mother tongue.
